About Walters and Associates

Scott Walters founded Walters and Associates to help health care providers better meet their missions by getting the most value from their existing facility resources as well as their planned facility investments.

Walters and Associates follows a different model than most consulting firms.  There is no junior staff.  Overhead is low.  This allows Mr. Walters to focus on a few clients, building a deep understanding of their needs.

The details matter.  While Mr. Walters enjoys leading strategic retreats and thinking creatively with executives and Board Members about which new service offerings may align best with your community’s needs, he also enjoys “doing the work.”  That means getting into the details: building the demand models, understanding which ZIP Codes are growing the fastest, which are aging the most, and thus where a strategic or programmatic opportunity may lurk.

Walters and Associates' low overhead model means you can afford a higher level of expertise and customer service than you might expect.  At larger consulting firms, senior members of the firm often find they can’t afford to learn the details.  Their billing rates make spending that much time un-affordable to their clients; the pressure to sell enough work to keep their more highly leveraged team busy means they often can’t spend as much time on existing client work as they might wish.

Walters and Associates does not have a “marketing team” or a “junior team.”  You won’t find inexperienced new hires learning their trade in your hospital or developing their speaking skills and political sensitivity in front of your medical staff.  You also won't waste your time wondering what became of the senior partner who made their single appearance on your campus at the sales presentation for your project.  With Walters and Associates, what you see is what you get.
